Personal Training
Personal Training is for everyone. Whatever your health & fitness goals, there will be a PT to help you achieve that goal. Whether you have just started training or have been training for 20 years there will be something you can take away from Personal Training.
I work with 1-1 clients or 2-1 clients (as long as the 2-1 clients are working towards the same goal and are at the same level of fitness).
PT sessions are 60 minutes long (unless we have discussed and agreed otherwise).
Clients I don’t work with
- Body Building clients – looking to step out onto the stage and compete in shows, then I’m not the girl for you, it’s not an area I specialise in and I would be doing both of us a disservice if I took you on.
- People wishing to do online training – It’s an area I had some experience with during COVID, and whilst it served for purpose for many during that time, it was simply a practice I didn’t enjoy. I’m a firm believer in form correction, and I found it incredibly challenging not being able to be hands-on.
Cannot recommend Jess and her PT sessions enough. I have seen more progress and results with 4 weeks with Jess than I did with months going to the gym alone with no help and support. Jess is friendly and so supportive and makes me feel so comfortable and motivated to achieve my goals. Thank you Jess xxx
What's my approach?
I’ve never been a personal trainer who signs clients into contracts or suggests time periods for how long you should have Personal Training. I quite often tell clients I am a bit like a driving instructor, with you whilst you learn to drive, and staying with you until you are ready to go out into the big, wide world.
Frequently Asked Questions
For potential first-time clients, here's all you need to know about starting your journey with me
Where do PT sessions take place?
Personal Training sessions take place exclusively in my private studio. I am based in Folkestone. There is ample on-street parking local to the studio.
What to bring to your first session?
Energy, and excitement.
No, but seriously, you just need to show up, I do the rest. Make sure you bring water with you, plenty of it and a small towel to mop up any sweat. Please ensure that you are in suitable clothing to work out in and comfortable trainers.
What happens in my first session?
Your first session is designed to see how you move, check for any muscular or skeletal imbalances and see where your skill level is at. It will not be a military boot camp.
I believe in starting at the foundation level you are at and moving forward from there, this is why it is called personal training, because it is personal to you. Exercise is not a one-size-fits-all approach. There will be certain movements and positions you find uncomfortable or simply cannot do.
You will be asked to warm up on a piece of cardiovascular equipment, then we will go through some mobility warm-up to ensure the muscles we are going to work are warm.
From there we will move into some resistance training, this might be using dumbbells, barbells, machines or even just our body weight.
After this section we will move to the cool-down and stretching focus of the session, once this is done you will be free to go about the rest of your day.
How to sign up?
It’s simple really, use the contact form to drop me a message, and from here we will have a casual chat about your goals. I will be able to tell you from this conversation whether I can work with you to help you reach these goals.
If I can, it will be reliant on whether I have the availability to add you to my calendar, or whether we can find a mutually convenient time to train.
I only work Monday to Friday, I start work at 6am every day, so I finish my working day at 6pm. I do not work weekends, these are important to me for family time.
